Phonology Template Editor and Search Tool - PTEST
Purpose (Why):
To be able to assist the linguist in the use of Bantu Phonology Tool (PTEST) computer program
This software assists the linguist with his phonological analysis of a language. This is an important step for determining the orthography of a language.
Learning Objectives (What):
1. The participant will know how to install the program.
2. The participant will know how to setup the program.
3. The participant will know how to use the search facility.
4. The participant will know how to create user defined phonology reports.
5. The participant will know how to convert a generated phonology report into a HTML file.

A PowerPoint presentation is given which gives an overview of the PTEST computer program.PTESTOverview.ppt.
Contents:
The participants will install PTEST on their computers, covering the installation requirements and installation instructions here.
The participants will go through the basic tasks of the program with the instructor. This will demonstrate the basic capabilities of the program. PTEST Content Instructions
